There’s something quite striking about African print. Its bold, statement-making nature perfectly depicts the strength, character, and power of African culture. We are indeed like no other race, a force to be reckoned with, and those who wear it, now reflect a lineage of greatness that only we can truly understand. To continue in on my End of Summer lookbook, I wanted to definitely include a piece that describes my personality, personal style and reflected a deeply rooted sense of pride. African print just seemed to fit the bill.
This skirt from Kosmios is a piece for the woman that isn’t afraid to turn heads wherever she goes. With it’s gathered design and vibrant colorful print, its features are designed to make a grand appearance. With all that the dress has to offer, what makes it that much more special is the fact that it has pockets. With such an elegant design, you would assume that pockets wouldn’t be included. However, this small but important feature just about sealed the deal for me. I know you ladies feel me! I paired my skirt with this awesome graphic printed fashion tee that added a bit more interest to the overall look. For my accessories, I played into the theme on the tee with the caricature wearing a scarf. I found a scarf that had some of the colors present in the skirt but also included complementary colors which I found quite unique to incorporate. I topped the look off with a pair of orange, tiered ball earrings from Parker Sparrow and colorfully strutted down the streets of downtown.

Style Tip of the Day
Adding in unexpected pops of color into any look can create a bit more interest in the overall styling aspect. When pairing colors that seemingly have no rhythm or rhyme together, remember the color wheel and ask yourself, are these colors are complementary, triadic. etc? If the answer is yes, go for it!
