I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Shout out to all of the hard working, resilient and courageous mothers out there! Mother’s Day is always bittersweet for me, but I’m blessed to still have my mother, my grandmother, my other grandmother (fathers mother), all still here!! Even though my heart is heavy because often times I feel disheartened that my baby isn’t here with me, I try to take comfort in the fact that my baby girl, Koi, is in the best place that she could possibly be. A place that all Christians are living and dying every day to get to… Now, on to this look from my Spring capsule…
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the main ingredient in your capsule is versatility. Do these yellow pants look familiar?? I’ll give you a second to think…give up? They’re actually styled as high waisted pants here but are actually the suspender jumpsuit that I previously styled here. Oh what, you thought I wasn’t going to wear these again?? Lol, I’m not that chick. We’re maximizing and restyling over here! I just simply tucked the suspenders into the pants and boom, a new look! A bold piece like this, I’m sure off hand is quite intimidating to wear. You have to REALLY own your confidence in statement pieces because they’re going to be conversation starters. The first time that I wore them out, the compliments just seemed to roll in! I even gained a new follower, lol. Yellow, is seemingly a hard color to restyle. However, its always easier to start with a neutral color to pair it with. Your next option would be to pair it with a multi-colored piece that already has a yellow present. The bolder option would be to color block and pair it with your choice of complimentary, tertiary, analogous, etc. colors. That will probably be my next styling option, so stay tuned for that.
I wanted to style it completely differently this time, so I went for more of a Havana Summer mood by pairing it with this abstract floral jacket as my statement piece. This jacket brought the entire color scheme together for the look. I pulled from the light blue that was present and decided to stay in the blue family by coupling it with a navy blue scarf that I styled as a top. I thought I would give this jacket one more go around before I release it from my closet and replace it with something that I love more. I like it, but I’ve had it for over a year, have only worn it twice and both were just for pictures. I haven’t solidified my decision, but I’m leaning towards the release. I wanted to keep it simple with my accessories since the outfit was already a grand statement, so I ditched jewelry altogether and opted for a pair of red sunglasses to finish my look off.

Style Tip of the day
Even the slightest changes can make the difference when styling your capsule. A basic oversized tee can be slid of the shoulder for a more effortlessly styled look with a little flair. Don’t limit yourself. Play around with different outfit pairings but also look to see how can that one piece be altered or transformed.
