I’m sorry, have we been formally introduced? My name is Britney. It’s such a pleasure to meet you…Isn’t this dress reminiscent of a formal dress? You’d be surprised to know that it’s not formal. The material is far from formal wear and in my opinion. This dress would even be cute paired with a pair of flat, dressy sandals. I fell in love with the cascading black and white hem and with black and white, you can never go wrong.
My first purchase from Sheinside.com and although it seemed like it took ages to arrive, I was very pleased with the way the dress fit. If any of you are familiar with this China-based company, then you know that the sizing is ridiculously small. I sized up and purchased an XL and to my surprise, it fit pretty well. Hugged the curves in all of the right places and was still very flattering on my body. I initially thought the material was something different. I didn’t expect it to be spandex and the bottom to be an almost cotton-like material. I guess I expected something a little thicker and heavier in terms of weight and I thought that the material at the bottom would’ve been stiffer. It actually flew in the breeze during the shoot, which in my mind made it a summer maxi with a formal appeal. I wanted to keep it classic so I decided to pair a basic black pump with my dress and accessorized with an ornate, gold statement necklace.
