I wiggled and jiggled and pulled and tugged until it slid over my hips. “Yes!”, I screamed as the skort zipped closed around my waist. Phew! A huge sigh of relief. I thought I was going to have to add another piece to my sale or donate pile. Ya’ll don’t know, but it’s been a struggle to fit back into some of my clothes. Post baby body in full effect! I see it, but I feel it even more so.  I hope you guys enjoyed your 4th of July weekend. What did y’all do? I’m hella boring, so I didn’t do much. Anyway, I know you guys are here for this look, so let’s get all the way into it!

How to Wear all Black
Black has really been my best friend lately. Even though I’ll forever be a lover of all things printed and colorful, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying a neutral color palette. Black on black is definitely a classic look and you can’t go wrong with any style pairing that you choose. I’ve been infatuated with exposed shoulders, so this blouse was an obvious choice. What was quite special about this top, was that the sleeves hung a little lower than usual. There was an extra piece of fabric that was sewed separately to create a cascading ruffle effect across my chest and the front of my arms. I decided to pair this top with an old-school option, for something a little different.

When is the last time you’ve seen a skort? Right now? lol. After getting this bad boy on, I was definitely wearing it at least once. I thought it was the perfect unexpected option to pair with this cutesy top. I liked how this skort differed from the traditional one, by offering a cross fabric window for the shorts to be seen, rather than a complete skirt in the front. To add a little color, I decided to wear my African beaded bib that featured warm and sultry colors and a layer of leather fringe across the bottom. I love how this neck piece added creative interest to the look and filled in the neck gap with something worthy of recognition. I focused in on the orange beading and pulled out my orange heels to close the deal. So what do you guys think? Style Tip of the day
When pairing two black pieces together, you really can’t go wrong. If classic is the feel you want to portray, you definitely will achieve that look with black. By wearing pieces of similar fabric content, you can easily fool the eye by appearing as if you have on one full piece.
